Mumbai to Hampi Nature Itinerary in May 2023

  1. Day 1: Kaas Plateau
4 hours 50 minutes (270 miles) from Mumbai

Visit Kaas Plateau, a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site, famous for its stunning seasonal wildflower bloom. The plateau is home to over 850 species of flowering plants, 39 species of butterflies, and many other insects and birds. The best time to visit is during the monsoon season from August to October, but the views of the landscape and the misty valleys are mesmerizing even in May.

  2. Day 2: Dandeli Wildlife Sanctuary
6 hours 20 minutes (247 miles) from Kaas Plateau

Experience the dense forests, wildlife, and adventure activities at Dandeli Wildlife Sanctuary. Take a safari to spot tigers, leopards, wild dogs, and other animals. Participate in river rafting, kayaking, or canoeing in the Kali River to enjoy the scenic beauty of the forest from a different perspective. The sanctuary is open throughout the year, but some activities may be closed during monsoon season.

  3. Day 3: Jog Falls
3 hours 5 minutes (91 miles) from Dandeli Wildlife Sanctuary

Witness the majesty of Jog Falls, the second-highest plunge waterfall in India, located on the Sharavathi River. The waterfall has four cascades - Raja, Rani, Roarer, and Rocket - each with its unique beauty. The best time to visit is during monsoon season from July to September, but the falls may be dry and less impressive in May. A short hike to the viewing platform provides a panoramic view of the falls and the surrounding mountains.

  4. Day 4: Bannerghatta National Park
