Kerala 2500 Two-day Itinerary in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Mattancherry Palace
    5 minutes (1.2 km) from Fort Kochi Beach

    The Mattancherry Palace, also known as the Dutch Palace, is a beautiful museum showcasing traditional Kerala architecture and art. Built by the Portuguese in the 16th century and renovated by the Dutch in the 17th century, the palace is a popular tourist destination. The palace features stunning mural paintings depicting Hindu mythology, a collection of weapons and royal artifacts, and a beautiful central courtyard. Visitors can also see the traditional Kerala style flooring, made from crushed shells, and intricate wooden carvings throughout the palace.

  2. Day 1: Paradesi Synagogue
    10 minutes (2 km) from Mattancherry Palace

    The Paradesi Synagogue, located in the heart of Mattancherry, is the oldest active synagogue in the Commonwealth of Nations. The synagogue features a beautiful Belgian chandelier, hand-painted Chinese tiles, and a centuries-old Torah scroll. Visitors can also see the Jewish artifacts and the traditional oil lamps used in prayers. The synagogue is closed on Fridays, Saturdays, and Jewish holidays, so plan your visit accordingly.

  3. Day 1: Chinese Fishing Nets
    5 minutes (1.2 km) from Paradesi Synagogue

    The Chinese Fishing Nets, also known as Cheena Vala, are a famous landmark in Kochi. These huge cantilevered fishing nets were introduced by Chinese traders in the 14th century and are still used today. Surrounded by dense forests, this waterfall is an ideal place for nature lovers and wildlife enthusiasts.
