You can use taxis, private cars, or hire a car with a driver to move around the city. Ola and Uber are also popular ride-hail services within Shillong. Getting a taxi outside of Shillong to Cherrapunji may be a little pricey, but it is the most convenient option to get around.
If you have more than five days, consider a day trip to nearby villages like Mawlynnong, considered as the cleanest village in Asia. If you have less than 5 days, prioritize Shillong’s charms and remove a day trip to either one of the caves or the tea estate.
