Begin your trip by exploring the town of McLeod Ganj. Visit the famous Tsuglagkhang Complex, a center of Tibetan culture which houses the Dalai Lama's residence. Take a walk on the busy streets and shop for souvenirs like handmade jewelry, thangkas, and prayer flags. Drop by the Namgyal Monastery to experience the daily life of monks and learn about Buddhism. In the evening, catch a glimpse of the sunset from the Sunset Point while sipping on a hot cup of chai.
Wake up early and head towards the Triund Trek. The trek is about 6 kilometers and takes around 4-5 hours to reach the top. The trail is full of breathtaking views of the Dhauladhar mountain range and the lush green valleys. You will pass through oak and deodar forests, small streams, and rocky terrains. Once you reach the top, enjoy the panoramic view of the Himalayas and spend the night camping under the stars.
After descending from Triund Hill, visit the serene Dal Lake, located about 2 kilometers from McLeod Ganj. The lake is surrounded by lush greenery and is a popular picnic spot. You can enjoy boating in the lake or take a stroll along its banks. Next, visit the Bhagsunag Falls, a cascading waterfall located around 1 kilometer from the lake. Take a dip in the freshwater pool beneath the falls or just relax and enjoy the scenic beauty. End your trip by having a sumptuous meal at one of the local restaurants.
