4-Day Itinerary for Gangtok in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Rumtek Monastery

    Rumtek Monastery, also known as the Dharmachakra Centre, is one of the largest and most significant monasteries in Sikkim.   2. Day 2: Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir

    Located at an altitude of 12,400 feet, Tsomgo Lake is a glacial lake surrounded by stunning snow-capped mountains. Visitors can take a yak ride around the lake or go for a hike in the nearby hills. A short drive from the lake is the Baba Mandir, a shrine dedicated to a soldier who lost his life in the Indo-China war. The temple is said to have healing powers, and many visitors come here to seek blessings.

  3. Day 3: Enchey Monastery and Do Drul Chorten

    The Enchey Monastery is a beautiful 200-year-old monastery built on a hilltop. It offers stunning views of the surrounding hills and valley. The monastery also has a large collection of ancient scriptures, and visitors can witness the daily prayer ceremonies conducted by the monks. Just a short walk from the monastery is the Do Drul Chorten, a large stupa surrounded by 108 prayer wheels. Visitors can spin the wheels for good luck and offer prayers at the temple.

  4. Day 4: Nathula Pass

    The Nathula Pass is a mountain pass located on the Indo-China border. Visitors need to obtain a permit from the government to visit this area as it is a restricted zone.
