Four-Day Itinerary for Munnar in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Mattupetty Dam
    30 minutes (11.2 km) from Munnar town

    Start your trip with a visit to the beautiful Mattupetty Dam. Located in the lush green hills, the dam offers breathtaking views of the surrounding hills and valleys. You can enjoy a boat ride on the lake and admire the peaceful surroundings. If you're lucky, you might even spot some wildlife on the way. The dam is open from 9 am to 5 pm every day, so plan your visit accordingly.

  2. Day 2: Eravikulam National Park
    45 minutes (16.5 km) from Mattupetty Dam

    Take a day trip to Eravikulam National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Home to the endangered Nilgiri Tahr, the park offers stunning views of the rolling hills and tea plantations. You can take a guided tour of the park, or hike one of the many trails. The park is open from 8 am to 4 pm every day, but it is closed in February and March for the calving season of the Nilgiri Tahr.

  3. Day 3: Tea Museum and Factory
    20 minutes (8.7 km) from Eravikulam National Park

    Learn about the history and production of tea in Munnar at the Tea Museum and Factory. The museum has interactive exhibits and offers a guided tour of the factory where you can see the tea-making process up close. You can also sample some of the delicious teas on offer. The museum is open from 9 am to 5 pm every day.

  4. Day 4: Top Station
    2 hours (39.1 km) from Tea Museum and Factory

    End your trip with a visit to Top Station, the highest point in Munnar. From here, you can enjoy panoramic views of the Western Ghats and the surrounding tea plantations. The view is especially stunning at sunrise or sunset. The Top Station viewpoint is open from 6 am to 6 pm every day, but it is closed during the monsoon season from July to October.
