Then head to the Guajataca Tunnel, a historic railway tunnel that's now a popular spot for hiking and rock climbing. Before you leave, be sure to stop by the Estatua del Pirata Cofresí, a monument to the legendary Puerto Rican pirate.
While Aguadilla is small enough to be explored on foot, renting a car is recommended if you want to visit neighboring towns like Rincon or Arecibo. Taxis are also available but can be expensive, and public transportation is limited. Expect to spend around $150 on car rental and gas for five days.
If you have more time, consider visiting the Cabo Rojo National Wildlife Refuge or the nearby city of Ponce. If you have less time, you can skip the town of Isabela and spend an extra day in Aguadilla or Rincon.
The main airport in Aguadilla is the Rafael Hernandez Airport (BQN), which is located about 10 minutes from downtown Aguadilla. It offers flights from various US cities, including New York and Orlando. The airport is relatively small but modern and efficient.
