  1. Day 1: Trekking through the Lush Forests of Vaishno Devi

    Start your journey to Vaishno Devi by trekking through the lush forests of the region. The trek starts at Banganga and ends at Bhawan. The path is well-paved and offers stunning views of the mountains and valleys. Along the way, you will come across several small temples and shrines, where you can offer your prayers. The trek is challenging but incredibly rewarding, and you will feel a sense of accomplishment after reaching Bhawan.

  2. Day 2: Gazing at the Majestic Beauty of the Ardh Kuwari Cave
    Starting Point: Bhawan
    Time & Distance: 4 hours (5 km)

    After a sumptuous breakfast, head to the Ardh Kuwari Cave, located 4 hours away from Bhawan. The cave is believed to be the place where Mata Vaishno Devi meditated for 9 months before finally emerging as the three goddesses. The cave is narrow and requires you to bend down at several places, but the experience is incredibly spiritual and humbling. You can also visit the Bhairon Temple, located nearby, before heading back to Katra.

Recommendations

Vaishno Devi is a beautiful and spiritual place, and there is no dearth of things to do here. You can take a helicopter ride to Sanjichhat and start your trek from there if you want to avoid the initial climb. If you have more time, you can also visit the Mansar Lake, located about 60 km away from Katra. Make sure to carry enough water and food supplies for the trek, and wear comfortable shoes and clothing. Finally, remember to respect the customs and traditions of the place and be mindful of the environment.
