Start your honeymoon exploring the historical neighbourhood of La Candelaria. Marvel at the colonial architecture, visit Plaza de Bolivar, the heart of the city, where you will find the Catedral Primada de Bogotá. Don't forget to visit Museo Botero, known for its collection of works by Fernando Botero, and the Gold Museum, a must-see for those interested in pre-Columbian archaeology.
On your second day, head up to Montserrate, a mountain with breathtaking views of the city. Take the funicular or cable car to the top and enjoy a picnic during sunset. Alternatively, book a romantic dinner at one of the restaurants on top of the mountain. Finish the day relaxing at one of the city's top spas, Agua y Piedra Spa.
Getting around Bogotá can be challenging for those who aren't used to travelling in big cities. Consider taking taxis, Uber or booking private transfers through your hotel or travel agency. The estimated cost is 20,000-100,000 COP, depending on the distance and time of day. Traffic conditions in Bogotá can be severe, adding extra time to your journey.
If you have an extra day, consider taking a day trip to the colourful town of Guatavita, about 1.5 hours from Bogotá. If you have less time, skip Agua y Piedra Spa and instead, go to the top of Monserrate during the day for a picnic or hike.
Bogotá has only one airport, El Dorado International Airport (BOG), located about 15 km west of the city. It's the third busiest airport in Latin America and serves many international and domestic airlines.
