Exploring Swansea in 4 Days in December 2023

  1. Day 1: Swansea Marina
    10 minutes (2.3 miles) from Swansea Train Station

    Swansea Marina is a picturesque location that will give you a taste of the sea and the boats that dock there. You can take a stroll around the marina, enjoy a cup of coffee or lunch at one of the cafes or restaurants, and even take a boat tour. If you're interested in art, check out the National Waterfront Museum, which features exhibitions on Welsh industry and innovation.

  2. Day 2: The Mumbles
    20 minutes (5.4 miles) from Swansea Marina

    A seaside village with a beautiful promenade, the Mumbles is a great place to spend a relaxing day. You can walk along the promenade, visit the Oystermouth Castle, or enjoy some fish and chips at one of the local restaurants. If you're feeling adventurous, you can also try your hand at surfing or paddleboarding at the nearby Langland Bay.

  3. Day 3: Rhossili Bay
    45 minutes (19 miles) from The Mumbles

    Rhossili Bay is one of the most beautiful beaches in Wales, with its sandy shoreline, towering cliffs, and stunning views of the sea. You can take a scenic hike along the cliffs, visit the Worm's Head rock formation, or simply relax on the beach. If you're interested in history, check out the nearby St. Mary's Church, which dates back to the 12th century.

  4. Day 4: Dylan Thomas Birthplace
    30 minutes (9.3 miles) from Rhossili Bay

    The birthplace of Welsh poet Dylan Thomas, this house has been restored to its original condition, complete with period furniture and personal belongings of the Thomas family. You can take a guided tour of the house and learn more about the life and work of the poet. If you have time, also visit Cwmdonkin Park, which was a favorite spot of Thomas and inspired some of his writing.
