Start the day early and drive to Haleakala National Park to witness the beautiful sunrise views. This national park is known for its dormant volcano and various hiking trails. Spend the day exploring and enjoying the scenery.
Visit the Maui Ocean Center, a top-rated aquarium that engages visitors with various marine life experiences. Explore the Hammerhead Sharks, Green Sea Turtles, and Sting Rays amidst a living coral reef exhibit. Lunch at the Reef Cafe, and afterwards visit nearby Kamaole Beach, known for soft sand and gently rolling waves.
Take a scenic road trip on the Road to Hana, an iconic Hawaiian drive offering breathtaking views of the ocean, waterfalls, and lush green rainforests. The Hana Highway is home to many hidden treasures, so be sure to stop at the black sand beach at Waianapanapa State Park and the Seven Sacred Pools of Oheo.
A car rental is highly recommended for all three days to make the most out of this itinerary. Rentals are available at the Kahului Airport. Expect a cost of $40 to $100 per day. Travel times may vary depending upon traffic and time of day.
If you have more time, consider adding a visit to Lahaina Town. It’s known for its arts and culture, fine dining, and various water activities that cater to all ages. Alternatively, relax and enjoy the hotel’s beachfront amenities. If you have less time, choose one of the destinations for a half-day trip.
Kahului Airport (OGG) is the main airport of Maui, Hawaii. It’s located in Kahului city, only 2.5 miles east of its downtown area. Most of the tourist attractions and hotels are located within 10-15 miles of the airport with a driving time of around 30 minutes.
