  1. Day 1: Explore the French Quarter
    10 minutes (2.2 km) from Pondicherry Railway Station

    Start your day by exploring the French Quarter of Pondicherry. This area is known for its distinct colonial architecture, cafes, and boutiques. Begin at the elegant White Town area and visit the famous Sri Aurobindo Ashram, which offers teachings and a serene garden to relax in. Next, head to the Government Park, which is home to the French War Memorial and the statue of Joan of Arc. Take a stroll along the picturesque Promenade Beach, a popular spot for locals and tourists alike. Finally, visit the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, a stunning Neo-Gothic church that is over 100 years old.

  2. Day 2: Visit Auroville and Matrimandir
    30 minutes (12 km) from White Town

    On day two, head to the experimental township of Auroville, located just outside of Pondicherry. Start by visiting the visitor center and then proceed to the Matrimandir, a golden spherical structure that serves as the spiritual center of Auroville. The Matrimandir is surrounded by beautiful gardens and offers guided tours. Afterward, visit the Auroville beach, a secluded spot that offers a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. End your day by enjoying a delicious meal at one of the many cafes and restaurants in Auroville.
