7-Day Adventure Itinerary for North Sikkim in June 2023

1. Day 1: Gangtok
   From Bagdogra Airport, it takes around 4 hours (80.9 km) to reach Gangtok

   Start your journey by exploring Gangtok. Visit the Enchey Monastery, which is one of the oldest monasteries in Sikkim. Take a stroll at the MG Marg and try some local cuisine. End your day by witnessing the sunset at the Tashi Viewpoint.

2. Day 2: Lachen
   It takes around 5 hours (105.3 km) to reach Lachen from Gangtok

   Head to Lachen, a small town located in North Sikkim. Visit the Lachen Monastery, which is situated on the top of a hill and offers a panoramic view of the town. Take a trek to the Green Lake, which is surrounded by beautiful mountains and lush green forests.

3. Day 3: Gurudongmar Lake
   It takes around 3 hours (55.6 km) to reach Gurudongmar Lake from Lachen

   Visit the Gurudongmar Lake, which is one of the highest lakes in the world. It is believed that Guru Nanak Dev, the founder of Sikhism, had visited this place during his journey to Tibet. Take a dip in the holy waters of the lake and witness the breathtaking beauty of the surrounding mountains.

4. Day 4: Lachung
   It takes around 2 hours (46.6 km) to reach Lachung from Gurudongmar Lake

   Head to Lachung, another small town located in North Sikkim. Visit the Yumthang Valley, which is also known as the Valley of Flowers. Take a dip in the hot springs at the Yumthang Valley and witness the vibrant colors of the flowers blooming all around.

5. Day 5: Zero Point
   It takes around 2 hours (24.6 km) to reach Zero Point from Lachung

   Visit the Zero Point, which is located at an altitude of 15,300 feet. Witness the snow-capped mountains and the frozen rivers on your way to Zero Point. Take a yak ride and enjoy the scenic beauty of the place.

6. Day 6: Gangtok
   It takes around 6 hours (123.5 km) to reach Gangtok from Zero Point

   Head back to Gangtok and visit the Namgyal Institute of Tibetology, which is a museum that showcases the culture and traditions of Tibet. Take a cable car ride to the Hanuman Tok and witness the panoramic view of the city. End your day by visiting the Rumtek Monastery, which is one of the largest monasteries in Sikkim.

7. Day 7: Departure
   From Gangtok, it takes around 4 hours (125.9 km) to reach Bagdogra Airport

   Take a last stroll at the MG Marg and grab some souvenirs to take back home. Head back to Bagdogra Airport for your flight back home.

North Sikkim is a paradise for adventure lovers. If you have additional time, you can also visit the Kanchenjunga National Park, which is home to rare species of animals and birds.
