3-Day Itinerary for Ooty and Coonoor in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Ooty Botanical Gardens

    The Ooty Botanical Gardens is spread over 55 acres and features more than 650 species of plants and trees. The gardens were established in the mid-19th century and are home to a fossilized tree that is said to be more than 20 million years old. The gardens also have a beautiful Italian-style garden and a conservatory that houses several exotic plants.

  2. Day 2: Doddabetta Peak
    35 minutes (9.3 km) from Ooty Botanical Gardens

    Doddabetta Peak is the highest mountain in the Nilgiri Hills, standing at 8,650 feet above sea level. The peak offers stunning views of the surrounding hills and valleys, and there are several trails that visitors can take to explore the area. On clear days, visitors can see as far as the Mysore plateau and the Coimbatore plains.

  3. Day 3: Sim's Park
    30 minutes (20 km) from Doddabetta Peak

    Sim's Park is a botanical garden located in Coonoor, about 20 km from Ooty. The park covers an area of 12 hectares and is home to several varieties of plants and trees, including many rare species. The park also has a small lake where visitors can go boating, and there are several walking trails that offer stunning views of the surrounding hills and valleys.
