Welcome to Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir! Upon arrival at the airport, you will be greeted by our representative and transferred to your hotel in Srinagar city. The rest of the day is free for you to relax and acclimatize to the altitude. You can take a stroll along the beautiful Dal Lake, soak in the natural beauty, and enjoy a delicious Kashmiri cuisine dinner.
After having breakfast, we will begin our scenic drive to Pahalgam, also called the ‘Valley of Shepherds.’ Enroute visit the famous Awantipora Ruins, an 1100-year-old temple complex dedicated to Lord Vishnu. On arrival in Pahalgam, check into your hotel and relax in the serene surroundings. In the evening, you can take a leisurely walk around the Lidder River or enjoy local cuisine.
Today we start the first day of the Amarnath Yatra. After having breakfast, we will drive to Chandanwari, the starting point of the yatra. From Chandanwari, we will trek to Pissu Top, which is a gradual ascent and takes around 4-5 hours. After reaching Pissu Top, we will camp overnight, and you can enjoy the natural beauty of the surrounding mountains.
Today we will trek from Pissu Top to Sheshnag, which is a long day of trekking. We will cross the Mahagunas Pass and reach Sheshnag, which is famous for its beautiful blue lake. After reaching Sheshnag, we will camp overnight and rest before starting the next day's trek.
Today we will trek from Sheshnag to Panchtarni. From Panchtarni, we will trek to Amarnath Cave, which is situated at an altitude of 3,888 meters. The cave is famous for the natural formation of an ice Shivalinga, which is considered to be one of Lord Shiva's holiest shrines. After the darshan, we will trek back to Panchtarni and camp overnight.
Today we will trek back to Pahalgam and then drive to Srinagar. We will reach Srinagar in the afternoon. You can indulge in some local shopping or take a shikara ride on the beautiful Dal Lake. In the evening, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight back home.
Don't forget to carry comfortable trekking shoes, warm clothes, and rain gear. It is also essential to carry a medical kit, high SPF sunscreen, and sunglasses. You can also take a horse or helicopter ride to the Amarnath Cave if you do not want to trek. Additionally, you can visit the famous Mughal Gardens in Srinagar, take a shikara ride on Dal Lake, and explore the local markets for souvenirs.
