For the first day, we will explore Fort Kochi, a historical and cultural hub with a unique blend of Portuguese, Dutch, and British influences. We will start with a visit to the iconic Chinese Fishing Nets, which provide a glimpse into the traditional fishing practices of the area. Next, we will explore St. Francis Church, the oldest European church in India, and the Santa Cruz Basilica, a beautiful and historic Roman Catholic church. We will then visit the Dutch Palace, built by the Portuguese and later renovated by the Dutch, and the Paradesi Synagogue, which is the oldest active synagogue in the Commonwealth of Nations. We will end the day with a sunset at the scenic Marine Drive.
On the second day, we will drive to Alleppey, also known as "Venice of the East," to relax and unwind. We will board a traditional houseboat and sail through the serene backwaters, passing by lush green paddy fields, coconut groves, and local villages. We will then explore the Tata Tea Museum, where we can learn about the history and production of tea in the region. We will also visit the Echo Point, a scenic spot known for its natural echo phenomenon. We will end the day with a refreshing walk in the beautiful tea gardens and a cup of hot tea overlooking the picturesque landscape.
