Start your trip by visiting Mullayanagiri Peak, the highest peak in Karnataka. The drive to the peak is scenic, with beautiful views of the Western Ghats. Once you reach the peak, take a short trek to the summit and admire the panoramic view of the surrounding hills and valleys. The peak is covered in mist during the monsoon season, making it quite magical. You can also visit the nearby Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary to spot some exotic wildlife.
Visit the stunning Hebbe Falls, located in the Kemmangundi hill station. The waterfall is surrounded by dense forests and coffee plantations, giving it a serene and calming atmosphere. You can take a dip in the pool at the bottom of the falls, or just sit and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. On your way back, stop at the Kalhatti Falls for another scenic view.
Explore the Kudremukh National Park, known for its diverse flora and fauna. The park is spread over 600 square kilometers and is home to several endangered species, including the lion-tailed macaque and the sloth bear. You can take a guided trek through the park, or go on a jeep safari to spot some wildlife. Make sure to visit the Kadambi Waterfall, located inside the park.
End your trip by visiting Kemmanagundi, a hill station known for its beautiful gardens and waterfalls. Visit the Z Point for a breathtaking view of the valley, or take a stroll through the famous Rock Garden. You can also visit the Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary, located nearby, to spot some more wildlife. You can also go on a coffee plantation tour to learn about the history of coffee cultivation in Chikmaglur. Make sure to carry comfortable walking shoes, sunscreen and a hat as you will be spending a lot of time outdoors.
