Tirupati Relaxation Itinerary - August 2023

  1. Day 1: Sri Venkateswara Temple
    10 minutes (2.6 km) from Tirupati Railway Station

    The Sri Venkateswara Temple is one of the most famous and sacred temples in India, dedicated to Lord Venkateswara. The temple is known for its intricate architecture, beautiful carvings, and religious significance. It is recommended to visit the temple during the early morning hours to avoid long queues. After the darshan, enjoy a leisurely breakfast at one of the many restaurants nearby. Spend the afternoon exploring the nearby Kapila Teertham waterfall, a beautiful natural attraction with breathtaking views. In the evening, head to the Swami Pushkarini Lake, a holy water body located within the temple premises, and witness the beautiful evening aarti.

  2. Day 2: Talakona Waterfall
    1 hour 30 minutes (65.7 km) from Tirupati Railway Station

    Escape the hustle and bustle of the city and spend the day at the Talakona Waterfall, the highest waterfall in the Andhra Pradesh state. Take a dip in the refreshing waters or hike to the nearby Siddeswara Swamy Temple. Enjoy a delicious lunch at the nearby Haritha Restaurant, known for its authentic Andhra cuisine. Spend the evening at the Deer Park, a beautiful natural attraction with a wide variety of flora and fauna. If time permits, head to the Srikalahasti Temple, a famous Shiva temple located nearby.

Recommendations

If you have time, consider visiting the Chandragiri Fort, an ancient monument with a rich history, located 18 km from Tirupati. You could also take a side trip to Kanipakam, a famous Hindu temple located 70 km from Tirupati.
