In the morning, head to the holy town of Sonprayag. Enjoy the scenic drive through valleys and hills and see the snow-capped peaks of the Himalayas. In the afternoon, explore the town and visit the Sonprayag Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva. In the evening, take a dip in the holy waters of the Mandakini River and attend the evening aarti.
Embark on a trek to Vasuki Tal, a high altitude glacial lake. The trek is challenging but worth it for the stunning views of the surrounding mountains and the crystal clear waters of the lake. You can camp near the lake and enjoy the starry night sky in the evening.
In the morning, go for a nature walk in the Kedarnath Wildlife Sanctuary. Spot different species of flora and fauna such as musk deer, snow leopards and Himalayan black bears. In the afternoon, visit the Kedarnath Temple, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva. In the evening, attend the aarti and witness the divine atmosphere of the temple.
Embark on a trek to Gandhi Sarovar, a glacial lake named after Mahatma Gandhi. The trek is moderate and covers a distance of around 14 kilometers. The trail is surrounded by mountains and offers breathtaking views of the Himalayas. Spend the night camping near the lake.
In the morning, head to Gaurikund, a small town located at the confluence of the Mandakini and Saraswati rivers. Take a dip in the holy waters of the Kund and visit the Gauri Devi Temple. In the afternoon, trek to the Kedarnath Temple for the last darshan of Lord Shiva. In the evening, attend the aarti and bid farewell to the holy town of Kedarnath.
If you have extra time, you can visit the nearby town of Guptkashi and explore the ancient temples and hot water springs. You can also take a helicopter ride from Kedarnath to Phata and visit the Triyuginarayan Temple, where Lord Shiva and Parvati got married.
