Three-Day Family-Friendly Itinerary in Delhi (July 2023)

  1. Day 1: Explore the Historical Monuments

    In the morning, visit the Red Fort, a 17th-century structure built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan. In the afternoon, head to the Qutub Minar, a 73-metre tall minaret built in the 12th century.   2. Day 2: Visit the Museums and Gardens

    Begin the day at the National Museum, which houses an extensive collection of artefacts from ancient India. Next, head to the Nehru Memorial Museum and Library, which is dedicated to the life and works of India's first Prime Minister. In the afternoon, visit the Lodhi Garden, a peaceful park with tombs from the Lodhi dynasty. In the evening, explore the beautiful Mughal Garden located inside the Rashtrapati Bhavan, which is only open in July and August.

  3. Day 3: Discover the Local Markets
    20 minutes (5.5 miles) from Mughal Garden

    In the morning, visit the Chandni Chowk market, one of the oldest and busiest markets in Delhi, known for its street food and traditional wares. In the afternoon, head to the Janpath Market, which offers a mix of trendy and traditional clothes, jewellery and accessories. Finally, in the evening, visit the Dilli Haat, a cultural hub that highlights the craftsmanship of different regions of India.

If you have time, consider visiting the Lotus Temple, a Bahá'í House of Worship that is open to people of all religions. You can also take a day trip to Agra to see the Taj Mahal, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. To maximise your fun, try the local street food, such as chaat, kebabs, and parathas.
