Two Days Family Friendly Itinerary in Delhi for July 2023

  1. Day 1: Qutub Minar
    20 minutes (10.8 km) from Indira Gandhi International Airport

    Start your day at Qutub Minar, a UNESCO World Heritage site and the tallest minaret in the world. The complex also houses the Iron Pillar of Delhi, known for its rust-resistant property. Spend your morning exploring the beautiful architecture and learning about the history of the Mughal Empire. In the afternoon, head to the nearby Mehrauli Archaeological Park, which has over 100 historical structures and monuments. End the day with a visit to Elma's Bakery, which serves delicious cakes, tea and coffee in a charming vintage setting.

  2. Day 2: Humayun's Tomb
    30 minutes (9.6 km) from Qutub Minar

    Visit Humayun's Tomb, a beautiful mausoleum built in the 16th century that was the inspiration for the Taj Mahal. Spend the morning admiring the intricate carvings and beautiful gardens. In the afternoon, take a trip to the National Museum, which has a vast collection of artefacts and exhibits on India's history. End the day with a visit to the India Gate, a war memorial and popular picnic spot where you can enjoy the evening breeze and street food.

Recommendations:

If you have more time, consider visiting the Red Fort, Lotus Temple and Akshardham Temple. A side trip to Agra to see the Taj Mahal is also highly recommended. To maximize your fun, try traditional Indian street food like chaat and golgappe, and shop for souvenirs at the local bazaars. Don't forget to negotiate prices!
