Akrotiri Archaeological Site is one of the most popular ancient ruins. The excavation site dates back to the Minoan era and boasts a major settlement that was destroyed due to volcanic eruptions in 1450 BC. You can marvel at the various artifacts on display while also taking in a panoramic view of the island from the top of this site.
Perissa Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches on the island. Endless black sand meets the crystal-clear Aegean Sea on this volcanic island. You can find a wide range of facilities all along the beach, including beach clubs, bars, and restaurants. You can also try out different water sports or rent beach chairs and umbrellas to soak up the sun.
Oia is one of the most beautiful towns in Santorini thanks to its famous blue-domed churches and whitewashed houses. Enjoy a stroll along the narrow streets to reach the main square and the castle. There are many small boutiques where you can buy unique local souvenirs or enjoy some of the best food and drink offerings on the island.
Caldera Hot Springs, situated in the center of Santorini, offer natural warm geothermal water from the volcano. Enjoy a relaxing experience with the amazing view of the Aegean Sea and the volcanoes around you. Along with this, you can rejuvenate and refresh yourself with the mud baths which make your skin feel amazing.
As Santorini island is not that big, the best way to explore is by renting a car or a motorbike, which will cost around €30-40 per day. Taxis and buses are available, but we advise you to check the timetables and fares as they are subject to change.
If you have more time, you can check out the famous Red Beach or head to the Santorini Wine Museum. On the other hand, for a shorter trip, you can skip Caldera Hot Springs.
Santorini (JTR) Airport is the main airport located in Thira, 6km away from the city center. You can reach your final destination through taxi or rental cars available at the airport.
