In the morning, we will visit Chembra Peak, the highest peak in Wayanad. The trek to the peak will take around 3-4 hours and is moderately difficult. You will see a heart-shaped lake on the way which is a popular attraction. We will have lunch at the base camp and then visit Soochipara Falls in the afternoon which is a beautiful waterfall with a pool for swimming. In the evening, we will visit the Edakkal Caves, famous for its ancient carvings and paintings.
On the second day, we will visit the Banasura Sagar Dam in the morning which is the largest earthen dam in India. You can take a boat ride to enjoy the scenic views of the dam and the surrounding hills. After lunch, we will go to the Kuruva Island, a beautiful island on the Kabini river, and famous for its bamboo rafting, trekking, and bird watching. In the evening, we will visit the Muthanga Wildlife Sanctuary, home to a variety of flora and fauna, and enjoy a jeep safari.
On the third day, we will visit the Pookode Lake, a freshwater lake surrounded by lush green forests. You can take a boat ride in the lake and spot some rare species of birds and animals. After lunch, we will visit the Wayanad Heritage Museum, which showcases the history and culture of Wayanad. In the evening, we will visit the Lakkidi Viewpoint, which offers panoramic views of the surrounding hills and valleys.
Other attractions and experiences that you should consider are Thirunelli Temple, Brahmagiri Peak, and Pakshipathalam Bird Sanctuary, famous for its bird watching and trekking trails. You can also visit the nearby towns of Sulthan Bathery and Mananthavady for some local shopping and street food. To maximize your fun, you can try some adventure activities like zip-lining, rock climbing, and camping. If you have time, you can also take a side trip to the nearby towns of Ooty and Coorg.
