3-Day Itinerary for Nature Lovers in Mukteshwar in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Chauli Ki Jali
    10 minutes (2.7 km) from Mukteshwar Market

    In the morning, we will visit Chauli Ki Jali, a beautiful cliff located near Mukteshwar temple. You can enjoy the scenic views of the Himalayan range from there. You can also try rock climbing and rappelling under the guidance of professionals. In the afternoon, we will visit Mukteshwar temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva and adorned with intricate carvings and a white marble Shivlinga. In the evening, you can enjoy a peaceful walk in the ancient forest surrounding the temple.

  2. Day 2: Bhalu Gaad Waterfalls
    45 minutes (17.5 km) from Mukteshwar Market

    After breakfast, we will head to Bhalu Gaad Waterfalls, one of the most picturesque spots in Mukteshwar. The waterfall flows from a height of 60 feet, and you can enjoy a refreshing dip in the cool water. In the afternoon, we will visit the Himalayan Viewpoint, which offers panoramic views of the snow-capped peaks of Nanda Devi, Trishul, and Panchachuli. In the evening, we will visit the Mukteshwar Inspection Bungalow, which was built in 1897 and offers a stunning view of the valley.

  3. Day 3: Sitla

    In the morning, we will visit Sitla, a small hamlet located in the lap of nature. You can enjoy a peaceful walk amidst the oak and pine trees in the Sitla forest, which is a birdwatcher's paradise. In the afternoon, we will visit the Methodist Church, which was built in 1900 and is one of the oldest churches in the region. In the evening, we will visit the Mukteshwar Mahadev Temple, which is located on a hilltop and offers a stunning view of the valley below.

Recommendations

If you have some extra time, you can consider visiting the Mukteshwar Wildlife Sanctuary, which is home to a wide variety of flora and fauna, including leopards, barking deer, and Himalayan black bears. You can also take a day trip to Nainital, which is a popular hill station located about 50 km from Mukteshwar.
