Two-Day Itinerary for Kodaikanal in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Coakers walk
    10 minutes (2.3 km) from Kodaikanal Bus Stand

    Morning: Coakers Walk is a one-kilometer long path that offers a stunning view of the valley. You can witness the beautiful valleys of Pambar, Dolphin's Nose, and Periyakulam from this walkway. It is best to start your walk early in the morning when the weather is cooler and provides a clear view of the valley.

    Afternoon: Head to Kurinji Andavar Temple, a Hindu Temple that is dedicated to Lord Muruga. The temple is situated amidst the Kurinji flowers, and you can witness the flowers bloom once every 12 years. The last bloom was in 2018.

    Evening: Take a stroll around the Kodaikanal Lake, a man-made lake that is beautifully lit up at night. You can enjoy boating here or just sit by the lake and enjoy the serene atmosphere.

  2. Day 2: Bryant Park
    15 minutes (2.5 km) from Coakers Walk

    Morning: Visit the Bryant Park, a botanical garden that is home to a wide variety of flowers, hybrids, and grafts. You can witness a flower show here in May every year.

    Afternoon: Pine Forest is the perfect place to spend the afternoon. It is a dense forest that has tall pine trees lined up. You can take a walk in the forest or enjoy a picnic here.

    Evening: The Bear Shola Falls is a waterfall situated in the Reserve forest of Kodaikanal. You can trek your way to the falls or hire a local jeep. It is a perfect spot to unwind and enjoy the beauty of nature.

Recommendations

If you have more time, you can visit the Kodaikanal Solar Observatory, Guna Caves, and Pillar Rock. Take a side trip to Berijam Lake, a beautiful lake situated in the reserve forest. You can also spend an evening at the Kodaikanal Club and enjoy the scenic beauty of the hill station.
