3-Day Itinerary for Tirupati in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Tirumala Venkateswara Temple
    10 minutes (3.2 km) from Tirupati Railway Station

    In the morning, visit the Tirumala Venkateswara Temple, one of the most visited pilgrimage sites in the world. This temple is dedicated to Lord Venkateswara, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. The temple has seven peaks and is situated on the seventh peak, called Venkatachala. In the afternoon, visit the Deer Park, located near the temple. This park is home to a variety of deer species. In the evening, go to the Swami Pushkarini Lake, a sacred lake near the temple and take part in the evening aarti.

  2. Day 2: Sri Govindarajaswami Temple and Sri Kapileswaraswami Temple
    25 minutes (8.4 km) from Tirumala Venkateswara Temple

    In the morning, visit the Sri Govindarajaswami Temple, dedicated to Lord Vishnu's brother, Sri Govindaraja Swamy. This temple is known for its magnificent architecture and is one of the oldest temples in Tirupati. In the afternoon, head to Sri Kapileswaraswami Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple is located at the base of the Tirumala Hills and is known for its beautiful architecture. In the evening, visit the Chandragiri Fort, located 16 km from Tirupati. This fort was built in the 11th century and was the capital of the Vijayanagar Empire.

  3. Day 3: Sri Venkateswara National Park and Talakona Waterfall
    1 hour 20 minutes (52.4 km) from Chandragiri Fort

    Start your day by visiting the Sri Venkateswara National Park, home to a variety of flora and fauna. The park is also home to the Sri Venkateswara Zoological Park, which houses a variety of animals and birds. In the afternoon, head to the Talakona Waterfall, located within the Sri Venkateswara National Park. This waterfall is the highest in the state and is surrounded by lush green forests. In the evening, head back to Tirupati and visit the Sri Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy Temple, located in Srinivasa Mangapuram, a small village near Tirupati.

Recommendations

If you have time, visit the Sri Padmavathi Ammavari Temple, dedicated to Goddess Padmavathi, Lord Venkateswara's wife. You can also take a day trip to the Horsley Hills, located 144 km from Tirupati. These hills are known for their scenic beauty and provide a great opportunity for trekking and rock climbing.
