To get around Jammu, you can hire taxis, take local buses or rent bikes. For the Vaishno Devi temple route, Air-conditioned buses available from Jammu and light vehicles restricted beyond Katra. Cost estimates of daily taxi hire range from INR 2000- INR 2500 per day, while local travel by bus ranges from INR 20-INR 50. The round trip cost to Vaishno Devi is about INR 1500-2000 by chopper and INR 250 by horse/pony.

Satwari Airport (IXJ) is the primary airport serving Jammu, located 8.6 miles (14 km) south of the city. Taxis and buses are available to travel to and from the airport. To reach the main city center or attractions, it takes around 30-45 minutes on average from the airport, depending upon traffic.
