    Explore the massive fort that was once the nucleus of many battles between the Marathas, Hyder Ali, and the British. The fort houses many ancient temples, palaces, and granaries, and provides a panoramic view of the city and the surrounding areas. Try to spot the seven concentric fortification walls that encircle the fort!

  2. 11:00AM: Vani Vilas Dam
    30 minutes (25.8 km) from Chitradurga Fort

    Visit the largest dam in the district, built across the Vedavathi River. Enjoy the serene surroundings and the lush greenery that the place has to offer. Take a boat ride or try fishing in the dam's reservoir. You can also have a picnic near the dam's garden.

  3. 2:00PM: Chitradurga Wildlife Sanctuary
    1 hour (53.4 km) from Vani Vilas Dam

    Get up close and personal with nature by visiting the wildlife sanctuary, which is home to many endangered species like sloth bears, leopards, hyenas, and porcupines. Go on a jeep safari or a hiking trail, and immerse yourself in the scenic beauty of the sanctuary. The sanctuary also has a crocodile park that you can visit.
