2-Day Family Friendly Itinerary for Vizag in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Kailasagiri Park
    15 minutes (4.5 miles) from Vizag Beach

    Start your morning at Kailasagiri Park. The park gives an incredible perspective on Vizag and the Bay of Bengal. Take a rope-way to reach the top of the mountain and have a breathtaking view of the city. Try some snacks at the food court in the park. In the afternoon, visit the INS Kurusura Submarine Museum which is the first submarine to convert into a museum in Asia. Take a glance at the life of Navy officers in the submarine. Later, you can enjoy at the VUDA Park, a popular amusement park for families. Children will enjoy the toy train and other fun rides. For dinner, try some street food at R.K Beach Road and enjoy the breathtaking views of the sunset.

  2. Day 2: Simhachalam Temple
    12 minutes (5.3 miles) from Vizag Railway Station

    Begin your morning by visiting the Simhachalam Temple, one of the famous Hindu temples in the city. The temple is dedicated to Lord Narasimha and is a remarkable example of Kalinga Architecture. At noon, go to the Rushikonda Beach, a popular spot for family days out. The beach is not crowded and is ideal for water activities like swimming, surfing, and boating. You can also enjoy some fish curry and rice at the shacks near the beach. Finish your day at the Dolphin's Nose Lighthouse, a beautiful spot that offers a mesmerizing view of the Bay of Bengal and the city. The lighthouse provides a beautiful sunset view offering a perfect location for a family photo.

Recommendations

You could also visit the Araku Valley, an incredible hill station with coffee plantations and waterfalls, but it is a 6-hour drive from Vizag. Another excellent side trip could be to visit the Borra Caves, one of the beautiful caves in India. To save time, consider hiring a car and driver to get around.
