In the morning, you'll head to the Shenzan Nature Reserve and Breeding Center. You'll work with the staff to help care for the animals and learn about their habitats. For lunch, you can try some local cuisine at the on-site restaurant. In the afternoon, you'll continue your volunteer work and have the opportunity to take a guided tour of the reserve. In the evening, you can relax in your hotel or explore the nearby night market.
On your second day, you'll volunteer at the Shenzan Orphanage. You can help with activities such as playing games, teaching English or participating in arts and crafts with the children. In the afternoon, you can explore the Shenzan Museum of Art or take a stroll in the nearby park. In the evening, head to a local restaurant to try some traditional dishes.
For your last day, you'll work with the Shenzan Urban Farming Project to help with planting, harvesting or other gardening tasks. You'll also learn about sustainable gardening practices and how they're implemented in an urban setting. In the afternoon, you can visit the nearby temple or take a cooking class to learn some local recipes. In the evening, you can head to a rooftop bar to enjoy views of the city.
Aside from volunteering, there are plenty of other activities you can consider such as visiting the Shenzan Temple, hiking to the top of Mount Shenzan, or exploring the local markets. If you have time, you can take a side trip to the nearby city of Shenzhen and visit attractions such as Window of the World or Happy Valley. Be sure to maximize your fun by trying local foods and participating in cultural activities.
