2-Day Foodie Itinerary for Agra and Vrindavan in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Agra
    Starting Point: Hotel in Agra

    Morning: Start your day with a visit to the iconic Taj Mahal, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Enjoy the stunning view and take pictures while learning about its history and architecture.

    Afternoon: Head to Petha Street to try the famous local sweet - Petha. It is a popular Agra delicacy made from white pumpkin, sugar syrup, and various flavors. Visit the Panchhi Petha Store or any other store to try different flavors of Petha.

    Evening: Explore the Sadar Bazaar and Kinari Bazaar for street food. Try the spicy chaat, gol gappas, samosas, and the famous bedai and kachori from the local stalls. End your day with a refreshing lassi from the oldest and famous lassi shop in Agra - Amritsari Lassi Wala.

  2. Day 2: Vrindavan

    Morning: Visit the Banke Bihari Temple, one of the most famous temples in Vrindavan. It is dedicated to Lord Krishna and known for its unique architecture. Attend the morning aarti and learn about the history and significance of the temple.

    Afternoon: Head to the famous food street in Vrindavan, Loi Bazaar. Try the mouth-watering traditional food like Chole Bhature, Kachori Sabzi, Dahi Bhalla, and Lassi from various vendors. Do not forget to taste the famous pedas and barfis from the local shops.

    Evening: Visit the ISKCON temple and attend the evening aarti. Take a stroll around the temple complex and enjoy the serene and peaceful atmosphere. End your day with a delicious dinner at the Govinda's Restaurant inside the temple complex, which serves pure vegetarian food made without onion and garlic.

Recommendations

If you have time, don't miss a visit to the Fatehpur Sikri, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, located 36 km from Agra. It is a beautifully preserved city built by Mughal emperor Akbar. Also, you can plan a visit to the Mathura, which is located 15 km from Vrindavan, a beautiful holy city that is known as the birthplace of Lord Krishna.
