5-Day Adventurous Itinerary for Uttarakhand in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Rishikesh
    1 hour 30 minutes (45 miles) from Jolly Grant Airport

    In the morning, head to Jumpin Heights for bungee jumping, and then enjoy a rafting trip on the Ganges. In the afternoon, visit the Beatles Ashram, where the Beatles stayed and meditated in 1968. In the evening, attend the Ganga Aarti ceremony at Triveni Ghat.

  2. Day 2: Auli
    9 hours (250 miles) from Rishikesh

    In the morning, take a cable car ride to Auli and enjoy skiing and snowboarding in the Himalayas. In the afternoon, visit the Nanda Devi National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and enjoy the stunning views of the Himalayas. In the evening, enjoy a bonfire and stargazing at your hotel.

  3. Day 3: Jim Corbett National Park
    8 hours (200 miles) from Auli

    In the morning, take a jeep safari in the Jim Corbett National Park, home to Bengal tigers, leopards, and more. In the afternoon, visit the Corbett Waterfall. In the evening, enjoy a nature walk in the park and listen to the sounds of the jungle.

  4. Day 4: Nainital
    3 hours (80 miles) from Jim Corbett National Park

    In the morning, take a boat ride on Naini Lake and visit the Naina Devi Temple, one of the 51 Shakti Peethas. In the afternoon, visit the Eco Cave Gardens, which feature caves that you can crawl through. In the evening, visit the Mall Road, where you can shop for souvenirs and enjoy local food.

  5. Day 5: Mussoorie
    7 hours (200 miles) from Nainital

    In the morning, take a cable car ride to Gun Hill and enjoy the panoramic views of the Himalayas. In the afternoon, visit the Kempty Falls, where you can swim in the refreshing water. In the evening, visit the Landour Bazaar, where you can try the famous hot chocolate from Prakash Cafe.

Recommendations

If you have time, consider taking a side trip to Valley of Flowers National Park, which is only open from June to October and is home to over 500 species of plants. You can also try paragliding in Bhimtal or enjoy camping in Dhanaulti. To maximize your fun, make sure to book activities in advance and pack comfortable shoes and clothing for outdoor activities.
