The Petronas Twin Towers are an iconic landmark of Kuala Lumpur and the tallest twin buildings in the world. Visitors can go on a guided tour to the sky bridge and observation deck for breathtaking views of the city. There's also a mall featuring luxury brands and local designer shops.
Batu Caves is a Hindu temple located inside a massive limestone cave. Visitors can climb up 272 stairs to the temple entrance and admire the giant golden statue of Lord Murugan. The cave also has a few more shrines further inside. Make sure to bring your own water and wear comfortable shoes!

Kuala Lumpur has a well-connected public transportation system that includes buses, trains, and light rails. The MyRapid card allows for easy access to all modes of transport and costs RM10 (including RM5 store value) with no expiration date. Taxis and ride-sharing services can be convenient, but make sure to negotiate prices beforehand as they don't always use meters.
Travelling around KL can be time-consuming due to traffic congestion, especially during rush hour. Plan your itinerary accordingly and consider taking trains instead of buses or taxis.
If you have more time, consider adding a visit to the KL Tower or Lake Gardens. For an even tighter budget, visit the National Museum, Masjid Negara, and the Merdeka Square which are free to enter. If you have less time, prioritize the Petronas Twin Towers and choose either Chinatown or Batu Caves for day 2.
Kuala Lumpur has two major airports: KLIA (Kuala Lumpur International Airport) and KLIA2. KLIA serves international flights and is located in Sepang, approximately 55km from Kuala Lumpur city centre. KLIA2 serves mainly low-cost carriers and is located very near to KLIA. It is easily accessible via public transportation (KLIA Express or Skybus). Allow at least 45 minutes to 1 hour for travel from the city centre to either airport, depending on traffic.
