A Day in Nairobi: A Jam-Packed itinerary

  • 9:00 AM: Nairobi National Park

    Start off the day with a visit to one of Nairobi's gems. Nairobi National Park is an excellent place to get up close with Kenya's wildlife, including all of the Big Five except the elephant. You can take a safari, hike or bike in the park. Make sure you bring your camera!

    This is an elephant orphanage for young elephants who have lost their mothers to poaching or other tragedies. The Trust takes great care of them so they can grow and eventually return to the wild. The best time to visit is during their feeding time, which is at 11 o'clock every day.

    African Heritage House is a historical and cultural gem built using traditional African architecture design. Inside, you will find various African artwork and artifacts. This place will give you a great insight into African heritage and culture.

    15 minutes (6 km) from African Heritage House

    The Nairobi National Museum explores Kenya's rich cultural and natural heritage. Inside, you'll find exhibits on Kenyan history and wildlife, including the full-size model of the famous Taitu dinosaur with other ancient artifacts from the pre-historic era.

On the other hand, if you have less time, you may skip the African Heritage House and go straight to the Nairobi National Museum.
