Transportation

Travelers can take a taxi or hire a private car with a driver for the duration of their stay. Local minibusses known as dala dalas also offer a cheap mode of transportation but can be crowded and uncomfortable. A taxi from the airport to Kendwa Beach should cost around 50 USD and take approximately an hour.

Useful Tips

If you have more time, consider spending a day at Paje Beach or take a spice farm tour. For those who have less time, take out the trip to Mnemba Atoll.

Zanzibar's international airport is the Abeid Amani Karume International Airport (ZNZ) located in the town of Kisauni, approximately 7.1 km from the city center of Zanzibar. Taxis are available at the airport, and many hotels offer airport transfers for their guests.
