Mullayanagiri Peak is the highest peak in Karnataka with an altitude of 1,930 meters above sea level. Start your day early and hike up the peak to see the breathtaking panoramic view of the hills. The trek to the peak is a moderate to difficult level trek and takes approximately 3-4 hours. Make sure to carry enough water and snacks for the trek. After trekking, you can visit the nearby coffee plantations and learn about the coffee-making process. In the evening, head to the Baba Budangiri shrine and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere.
Hebbe Falls is a beautiful waterfall located in the middle of a coffee plantation. The waterfall is surrounded by dense forests and is a perfect place to escape the city's hustle and bustle. To reach the falls, you have to take a jeep ride from the parking area. The jeep ride is approximately 8 km, and the last 2 km is a bit bumpy. Once you reach the falls, you can take a dip in the cold water and enjoy the serene surroundings. After spending some time at the falls, head back to Chikkamagalur and visit the Hirekolale Lake. The lake is surrounded by lush green hills and is a great place to relax and unwind.
You can also visit the Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary and Kudremukh National Park if you have additional time. The Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary is home to various species of flora and fauna, and you can opt for jungle safaris. Kudremukh National Park is known for its scenic trekking trails, and you can also visit the Kudremukh Iron Ore Mines.
