Valletta is a compact city, and most of its attractions are within walking distance. Taxis and buses are also available, but walking is the easiest and cheapest way to explore the city. If you arrive by car, park your vehicle outside the walls and use the bus or ferry to reach the city center. Travel time between locations is approximately 20-30 minutes on foot or 10-15 minutes by car. Expect to spend around €10-15 for transportation costs.
If you have more time, add a visit to the Grandmaster's Palace, the National War Museum, or the Malta Experience. If you prefer to explore the city's streets and alleys, wander around the colorful Merchants Street or admire the churches and palaces in Republic Street. If you have less time, skip Casa Rocca Piccola or the National Museum of Archeology, but do not miss the St. John's Co-Cathedral and the Upper Barrakka Gardens. Wear comfortable walking shoes, bring sunscreen, and carry bottled water, especially during the summer months.
