Two-Day Mumbai City Experiences Itinerary in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Gateway of India
10 minutes (4.2 km) from Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus

Located on the waterfront in Colaba, the Gateway of India is a must-visit landmark in Mumbai. Built to commemorate the visit of King George V and Queen Mary in 1911, the monument has since become an iconic symbol of the city. In the morning, take a boat ride from the Gateway to Elephanta Caves, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with ancient rock-cut temples. Afternoon can be spent shopping at Colaba Causeway, known for its street shopping, or at Crawford Market, a famous indoor market for local produce and souvenirs. In the evening, head to Marine Drive to watch the sunset.

  2. Day 2: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya
20 minutes (7 km) from Gateway of India

Formerly known as the Prince of Wales Museum, this museum is a treasure trove of art, culture and history. The building itself is a stunning example of Indo-Saracenic architecture. Spend the morning exploring the galleries and exhibits. Afternoon can be spent at Haji Ali Dargah, a beautiful mosque and tomb built on a small island off the coast of Mumbai. In the evening, head to Juhu Beach for dinner and drinks.
