Indore City Experience Itinerary for June 2023

  1. Day 1: Lal Bagh Palace
    15 minutes (6.5 km) from Indore Junction

    In the morning, visit the Lal Bagh Palace. The palace is known for its architectural grandeur and was once the residence of the Holkar dynasty. The palace has been converted into a museum showcasing artefacts from the Holkar era. In the afternoon, head to the Sarafa Bazaar. The market is famous for its street food, especially the chaat and sweets. In the evening, visit the Kanch Mandir, a Jain temple made entirely of glass. The temple looks spectacular when illuminated at night.

  2. Day 2: Pipliyapala Regional Park
    20 minutes (8.6 km) from Lal Bagh Palace

    In the morning, visit the Pipliyapala Regional Park. The park has a man-made lake which offers boat rides and a variety of water sports. The park also has a musical fountain and an adventure sports zone. In the afternoon, head to the Annapurna Temple. The temple is dedicated to the goddess of food and is famous for its prasad. In the evening, visit the Rajwada Palace, the historical palace of the Holkar dynasty. The palace is a perfect blend of Mughal and Maratha architecture.

Other places to consider visiting include the Khajrana Ganesh Temple, the Indore Museum, and the Mahatma Gandhi Hall. You can also take a side trip to Mandu, a ruined city which was once the capital of the Malwa region. To maximise your fun, try some of the local delicacies such as poha, jalebi, and malpua.
