Spend your first day at Yokohama Cosmo World, an amusement park with thrilling roller coasters and a huge Ferris wheel. The park is located in the centre of Minato Mirai and offers great views of the surrounding area.
Aquariums, rides, and attractions at Yokohama Hakkeijima Sea Paradise offer up-close views of marine wildlife such as dolphins, sea lions, and penguins. It’s a great place to interact with aquatic life.
Sankeien Garden is a traditional Japanese garden with a large pond, bridges, and tea houses. The garden is surrounded by nature and provides visitors with a peaceful atmosphere. It is great for families with children.
The Cup Noodle Museum is an interactive museum where visitors can make their own cup noodle and learn about the history of cup noodles. Kids and adults alike will enjoy this museum and the interactive exhibits.
Yamashita Park is a large public park next to the sea. It’s a great place for families to have a picnic, play games, and enjoy the scenery. The park also has a playground and a rose garden.
The easiest way to get around Yokohama is by train. The city has a well-developed train system that can take you to most of the popular tourist destinations. Consider getting a Suica or Pasmo card for easy access to trains and buses. A one-day train pass for unlimited rides on local trains costs ¥700.
If you have more time, you can visit Yokohama Chinatown or Kirin Beer Village. If you have less time, you can cut out either the Cup Noodle Museum or Sankeien Garden. The attractions are flexible enough.
Narita International Airport (NRT) is the nearest major airport to Yokohama. It is located in the city of Narita, 80 km northwest of Yokohama. Alternatively, Haneda Airport (HND) is located 30 km southeast of Yokohama and offers more domestic flight options.
