After arriving in Leh, take it easy for the day to acclimatize to the high altitude. Try some authentic Ladakhi food for lunch and visit the local market in the evening.
In the morning, visit the Leh Palace which was once the residence of Ladakhi kings. In the afternoon, visit the Shanti Stupa for a breathtaking view of the city. Spend the evening at a local restaurant for some momos and thukpa.
Start early and drive to Pangong Tso Lake for a magnificent view of the blue waters and surrounding mountains. Spend the day relaxing by the lake and take a dip if you dare. Stay overnight at a nearby campsite.
Drive to Nubra Valley and visit the Diskit Monastery and the famous Maitreya Buddha statue. Spend the evening at a nearby campsite and enjoy a bonfire under the stars.
Drive to Khardung La Pass, the highest motorable road in the world. Take in the stunning views and visit the army cafe for some tea and snacks. Return to Leh in the evening and explore the local market.
Visit the Magnetic Hill in the morning where you can see your car move uphill without any engine power. In the afternoon, visit the Gurudwara Pathar Sahib which is believed to have been visited by Guru Nanak. Spend the evening at a nearby restaurant for some butter tea and tsampa.
Take a morning flight back home with wonderful memories of Ladakh.
Consider taking a hot air balloon ride over the Nubra Valley or a camel safari at the Hunder Sand Dunes. You can also visit the Hemis National Park for some wildlife spotting. Don't forget to try the local apricot jam and butter tea.
