Dalhousie Family Friendly Itinerary for June 2023

  1. Day 1: Khajjiar Lake
    23 minutes (12.7 km) from Dalhousie

    In the morning, visit the serene Khajjiar Lake, surrounded by lush meadows and cedar trees. Take a walk around the lake, enjoy the breathtaking views, and click some memorable pictures. In the afternoon, head to the Kalatop Wildlife Sanctuary, which is home to a variety of animals and birds, including the Himalayan Black Bear and the Western Tragopan. Enjoy a jungle safari and soak in the natural beauty of the place.   2. Day 2: Panchpula
    33 minutes (16.5 km) from Khajjiar Lake

    In the morning, visit the Panchpula, a beautiful waterfall with a monument built in memory of the great freedom fighter, Sardar Ajit Singh. Enjoy the stunning views of the waterfall and the surrounding mountains. In the afternoon, head to the Satdhara Falls, which are seven cascading falls known for their medicinal properties. Take a dip in the natural pool and rejuvenate yourself. In the evening, visit the Tibetan Market, located in the heart of Dalhousie. Shop for souvenirs, handicrafts and try some local delicacies.

  3. Day 3: Dainkund Peak
    40 minutes (14.8 km) from Panchpula

    In the morning, trek to the Dainkund Peak, the highest point in Dalhousie. The trek is easy and takes around 2-3 hours to complete. Enjoy the panoramic views of the Pir Panjal range and the surrounding valleys. In the afternoon, visit the Subhash Baoli, a beautiful natural spring named after Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. The place is famous for its refreshing water and serene ambiance. In the evening, head back to Dalhousie and visit the Chamera Lake, a beautiful artificial lake surrounded by lush green hills.
