5-Day Itinerary for Srinagar in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Shalimar Bagh
    20 minutes (5.7 km) from Srinagar Airport

    Visit the beautiful Mughal garden in the morning and take a stroll around the terraced garden and fountains. Afterward, head to the nearby Pari Mahal, which is an ancient monument and a beautiful example of Islamic architecture. In the evening, take a 5-minute walk to the nearby Nishat Bagh and enjoy the sunset with stunning views of the Dal lake.

  2. Day 2: Shankaracharya Hill
    35 minutes (10 km) from Shalimar Bagh

    In the morning, head to the Shankaracharya Hill to visit the ancient temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple is located at a height of 1,000 feet and provides a panoramic view of the city. In the afternoon, head to the nearby Nehru Park for a picnic and enjoy the serene views of the Dal lake. In the evening, take a 10-minute walk to the nearby Hazratbal Shrine and witness the evening aarti.

  3. Day 3: Dal Lake

    Take a day trip to Gulmarg and enjoy the scenic beauty of the snow-capped mountains. Take the cable car ride to the top of the mountain for panoramic views of the valley. In the evening, head back to Srinagar and enjoy the local street food at the famous Hazratbal Market.

  5. Day 5: Pahalgam
    2 hours 30 minutes (91 km) from Gulmarg

    Take a day trip to Pahalgam and visit the famous Betaab Valley, which is surrounded by snow-capped mountains and lush greenery. Take a stroll around the valley and enjoy the serene beauty of the place. In the evening, head back to Srinagar and relax at the popular Dal Lake Boulevard.

If you have time, consider visiting the famous Jama Masjid, which is one of the oldest mosques in Srinagar. You can also take a side trip to Sonamarg and enjoy the scenic beauty of the Thajiwas Glacier.
