4-Day Nature Itinerary in Wayanad in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Chembra Peak
    30 minutes (7.5 miles) from Kalpetta town

    In the morning, hike to the Chembra Peak which is the highest peak in Wayanad. The trek to the top of the peak will take around 3 hours. Enjoy the breathtaking view of the surrounding hills and forest. In the afternoon, visit the Soochipara Waterfalls and take a refreshing dip. In the evening, visit the Pookode Lake and enjoy the serene environment while boating.

  2. Day 2: Kuruva Island
    1 hour (24.4 miles) from Kalpetta town

    In the morning, take a trip to Kuruva Island which is an uninhabited island located in the middle of the Kabini river. Take a walk through the island's lush green forests and serene streams. In the afternoon, visit the Edakkal Caves which is a prehistoric site of petroglyphs. In the evening, visit the Banasura Sagar Dam which is the largest earthen dam in India.

  3. Day 3: Thirunelli Temple

    In the morning, visit the Thirunelli Temple which is an ancient temple located in the Brahmagiri hills. The temple is surrounded by lush green forests and is believed to be the place where Lord Brahma created the universe.   4. Day 4: Kuruvadweep Island
