4-Day Family Friendly Itinerary for Rishikesh in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Neer Garh Waterfall
    20 minutes (7.3 kilometers) from Rishikesh city center

    Morning - Start your adventure with a visit to the Neer Garh Waterfall. A short trek through the forest will lead you to the picturesque waterfall. Take a refreshing dip in the natural pool or just relax and enjoy the beautiful views.

    Afternoon - Head to the Triveni Ghat to experience the Ganga Aarti, a Hindu ritual of worship to the river Ganges. The rhythmic chanting of the prayers and the lighted lamps floating on the river create a magical atmosphere.

    Evening - End your day with a visit to the Beatles Ashram, also known as the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi Ashram. This abandoned ashram was once visited by the famous rock band and is now covered with street art and graffiti.

  2. Day 2: Shivpuri
    30 minutes (16.5 kilometers) from Rishikesh city center

    Morning - Drive to Shivpuri for a thrilling white water rafting experience. The Ganges river offers a range of rapids for beginners as well as experienced rafters.

    Afternoon - Visit the Jumpin Heights adventure park for some adrenaline-pumping activities like bungee jumping and giant swings. Safety and professionalism are given utmost importance at this park.

    Evening - Return to Rishikesh and explore the local markets for some souvenirs and traditional handicrafts.

  3. Day 3: Parmarth Niketan
    10 minutes (3.2 kilometers) from Rishikesh city center

    Morning - Start your day with some yoga and meditation at Parmarth Niketan, one of the largest ashrams in Rishikesh. The serene surroundings and the guidance of experienced gurus will help you find inner peace.

    Afternoon - Visit the Swarg Niwas and Shri Trayanbakshwar Temple for a glimpse into the spiritual side of Rishikesh. The temple complex has 13 different temples dedicated to various gods and goddesses.

    Evening - Enjoy a relaxing sunset boat ride on the Ganges river with stunning views of the city and the surrounding hills.

  4. Day 4: Haridwar
    1 hour 10 minutes (34 kilometers) from Rishikesh city center

    Morning - Drive to Haridwar, a holy city and an important pilgrimage destination for Hindus. Visit the Har Ki Pauri ghat to witness the Ganga Aarti, a larger than life version of the ritual you experienced on Day 1.

    Afternoon - Explore the city and visit the Mansa Devi temple, located on top of a hill and accessible by cable car. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Mansa and offers panoramic views of the city.

    Evening - Return to Rishikesh and enjoy a relaxing dinner by the riverside at one of the many cafes and restaurants.
