Nalgonda Nature 3-Day Itinerary in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Kolanupaka Jain Temple
    50 minutes (35 km) from Hyderabad Airport

    Start your day early and head to the Kolanupaka Jain Temple, one of the oldest and most historic temples in India. The temple is famous for its exquisite architecture and beautiful sculptures. Spend the morning exploring the temple and learning about its rich history. After lunch, take a scenic drive to the Nagarjuna Sagar Dam, the largest masonry dam in the world. Enjoy the breathtaking views of the dam and the lush green surroundings. In the evening, head back to Kolanupaka to witness the colorful sunset from atop the temple.

  2. Day 2: Ethipothala Waterfall
    1 hour 20 minutes (60 km) from Kolanupaka Jain Temple

    Start your day early and take a scenic drive to the Ethipothala Waterfall. The waterfall is located on the Chandravanka River and is surrounded by lush green forests and hills. Spend the morning hiking or taking a boat ride to the base of the waterfall. After lunch, head to the Kondamadugu Fort, a 14th-century fort built on a hilltop. Take a tour of the fort and enjoy the stunning views of the surrounding landscape. In the evening, head back to the waterfall to witness the stunning sunset views.

  3. Day 3: Anupu
    1 hour 50 minutes (90 km) from Ethipothala Waterfall

After lunch, head to the Pillalamarri Banyan Tree, one of the oldest and largest banyan trees in the world. The tree is over 700 years old and covers an area of 3 acres. Spend the afternoon hiking around the tree and taking in the beautiful surroundings. In the evening, head back to your hotel and relax after a long day of exploring.

Recommendations

If you have extra time, consider visiting the Bhuvanagiri Fort, a hilltop fort located 2 hours (110 km) from Anupu. You can also take a day trip to Warangal to visit the Warangal Fort and the Thousand Pillar Temple. To maximize your fun, try local cuisine such as Hyderabadi Biryani or Haleem.
