Two-Day Itinerary for Goa in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Explore the Beaches
    20 minutes (7.8 miles) from Dabolim Airport

    Start your day off by visiting the popular Baga Beach. Enjoy the calm waves and the beautiful sunrise. Afterward, head over to Calangute Beach which is a 10 minutes drive from Baga Beach. Here you can enjoy the water sports activities or simply relax and enjoy the scenery. For lunch, head over to one of the beach shacks and try the delicious seafood. In the afternoon, visit the Anjuna Flea Market which is only a 15 minutes drive from Calangute Beach. You can shop for souvenirs, clothes and jewelry. In the evening, enjoy the sunset at Vagator Beach and have dinner at one of the beach restaurants.

  2. Day 2: Historical Sites and Churches
    18 minutes (6.8 miles) from Vagator Beach

    Start your day by visiting the famous Fort Aguada which is a 20 minutes drive from Vagator Beach. This fort was built in the 17th century and offers a stunning view of the Arabian Sea. Next, head over to the Basilica of Bom Jesus which is a 30 minutes drive from the fort. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is famous for its Baroque architecture and is home to the mortal remains of St. Francis Xavier. Afterward, visit the Se Cathedral which is located next to the Basilica. This 16th-century church is dedicated to Saint Catherine and houses the famous Golden Bell. In the evening, visit the Panjim Market and shop for local handicrafts and souvenirs.

Recommendations

Don't miss out on the Dudhsagar Waterfalls which is a 2-hour drive from Panaji. You can also take a day trip to the beautiful Divar Island which is a 30-minute ferry ride from Old Goa. For adventure seekers, try the trek to the famous Fort Chapora which was featured in the Bollywood movie Dil Chahta Hai.
