Embark on an exhilarating trek to Chopta and Tungnath, known as the "mini Switzerland" of India and the highest Shiva temple in the world, respectively. In the morning, drive to Chopta, which offers stunning panoramic views of the Himalayas. Begin the trek to Tungnath, a moderate 3.5-kilometer hike through beautiful meadows and rhododendron forests. Reach Tungnath and admire the majestic architecture of the temple. Afterward, trek further uphill for 1 kilometer to Chandrashila Peak, offering awe-inspiring 360-degree views. Descend back to Chopta and return to Kedarnath in the evening.
Embark on a memorable journey to Vasuki Tal, a stunning high-altitude lake surrounded by snow-capped peaks. After breakfast, drive to Sonprayag and begin the trek to Vasuki Tal. On your last day, visit the holy town of Gaurikund, the starting point of the trek to Kedarnath. In the morning, drive to Gaurikund and take a dip in the sacred hot springs known for their healing properties. Explore the town and soak in the spiritual ambiance. Afterward, bid farewell to Kedarnath and depart for your onward journey, carrying with you the memories of this divine pilgrimage.
While exploring Kedarnath, don't miss the opportunity to visit the secluded and serene Gandhi Sarovar Lake, named after Mahatma Gandhi. Located at an altitude of 4,400 meters, this pristine lake offers tranquility and stunning vistas of the surrounding peaks. Another lesser-known gem is the Bhairav Temple, dedicated to Lord Bhairav, located near the Kedarnath Temple. This temple is believed to be the protector of the main shrine. Additionally, take a walk to the Bhimshila, a huge stone revered for its connection to the Mahabharata mythology. It is said that Bhima, one of the Pandava brothers, placed this stone as a step during his journey to heaven.
