7-day Adventure Itinerary for Kedarnath and Badrinath in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Arrive in Dehradun
    5 hours (165.7 miles) from Delhi

    After arrival in Dehradun, check-in and relax. In the afternoon, explore Dehradun's scenic beauty, visit the Robber's Cave and Sahastradhara waterfall. In the evening, go shopping at Paltan Bazaar, and try out some delicious local food.

  2. Day 2: Kedarnath
    8 hours (126.6 km) from Dehradun

    Start early to reach Gaurikund, the starting point of the trek to Kedarnath. It's a 16 km trek, and it takes around 6-7 hours to reach Kedarnath. After reaching Kedarnath, visit the famous Kedarnath Temple and attend the evening Aarti ceremony. Overnight stay at Kedarnath.

  3. Day 3: Kedarnath to Guptkashi
    4 hours (24.3 km) from Kedarnath

    Start early for the 16 km downhill trek to Gaurikund. From there, drive to Guptkashi. Visit the ancient Vishwanath Temple in the afternoon and relax in the natural hot water springs in the evening.

  4. Day 4: Badrinath
    5 hours (161.1 km) from Guptkashi

    Drive to Badrinath in the morning. Check-in at the hotel and visit the famous Badrinath Temple, Tapt Kund, and Surya Kund in the afternoon. Attend the evening Aarti ceremony at the temple.

  5. Day 5: Mana Village and Vasudhara Falls
    4 hours (25 km) from Badrinath

    Visit Mana Village, the last village before the India-China border. Enjoy the scenic beauty of Vasudhara Falls and trek to the Satopanth Lake for a mesmerizing view. Return to Badrinath in the evening.

  6. Day 6: Valley of Flowers
    3.5 hours (10.4 km) from Badrinath

    Drive to Govindghat and start your trek to the Valley of Flowers. Explore the valley's vibrant flora and fauna, including the famous Brahma Kamal flower. Return to Govindghat in the evening and drive back to Badrinath.

  7. Day 7: Departure from Dehradun
    7.5 hours (309.1 km) from Badrinath

    Depart for Dehradun early in the morning. En route, visit the ancient town of Srinagar and the sacred Raghunath Temple. Arrive in Dehradun by evening for your onward journey.

Recommendations

While in Dehradun, you can also consider visiting the Mindrolling Monastery or taking a cable car ride to Mussoorie. You can also plan a day trip to Rudraprayag to visit the Koteshwar Mahadev Temple. Make sure to carry warm clothing and comfortable shoes for the trekking.
