Ravangla: A 3-Day Itinerary

  1. Day 1: Buddha Park and Ralong Monastery
    10 minutes (2.5 km) from Ravangla Town

    In the morning, visit the Buddha Park which houses a 130-foot tall statue of the Buddha. Take a stroll around the garden and enjoy the panoramic views of the mountains. Afternoon, head to Ralong Monastery which is adorned with colourful murals and traditional Tibetan architecture. You can witness the monastic rituals and offer prayers. In the evening, take a walk in the nearby village and taste some local delicacies.

  2. Day 2: Maenam Wildlife Sanctuary and Temi Tea Garden
    1 hour 20 minutes (26 km) from Ravangla Town

    Start your day with a visit to Maenam Wildlife Sanctuary which is home to a variety of flora and fauna including red pandas, Himalayan black bears, and leopards. Take a guided trek through the sanctuary and spot some of the wildlife. In the afternoon, visit the Temi Tea Garden which is the only tea estate in Sikkim. Take a tour of the tea factory and learn about the tea-making process. Taste some refreshing tea and enjoy the scenic views of the tea garden. In the evening, return to Ravangla Town and explore the local markets.

  3. Day 3: Tendong Hill and Ralang Hot Springs
    45 minutes (15 km) from Ravangla Town

    Begin your day with a trek to Tendong Hill which is believed to be the place where Guru Padmasambhava meditated. The trek is steep but the panoramic views from the top are worth the effort. In the afternoon, head to Ralang Hot Springs which are located at the banks of the Rangit River. Soak your tired muscles in the hot springs and rejuvenate yourself. In the evening, drive back to Ravangla Town and enjoy a leisurely dinner at one of the local restaurants.
